Ukrainian IDPs adapt to new life: Vostok-SOS anniversary celebrated in Kyiv

In the four years since its foundation, Vostok-SOS Charity Fund has has helped thousands of IDPs adapt to a new life in various regions of Ukraine, in particular in Kyiv, and held a large number of events for them. Global Ukraine portal wrote about the problems faced by the IDPs, especially in the East of Ukraine, where a lot of help is still needed, and the main resources of Vostok-SOS are directed at helping them.
And what about the IDPs in Kyiv? By now, despite various problems, they have mainly accustomed to the capital’s rhythm but remain a united community, and Vostok-SOS anniversary celebration became another occasion for the old friends to meet.
The event took place at the Isolation Coworking. Particularly interesting was the presentation by Sergiy Zhadan, who presented the famous Wild Field movie. In addition to the great concert for adults, robotics playground was organized for older children and a zone with a fantastic doll house and busyboard for the younger kids. And the money collected from the event will be used to restore hygienic corners at the front line schools in the Luhansk region.
Now Vostok-SOS conducts its main activities in eastern Ukraine, including legal and other trainings, assistance to IDPs, but also cares about the future of the region: for example, funds areraised for a volunteer project to create the first robo-club for children in the Luhansk region.
Young members of joint teams of UkraineIS and Vostok-SOS took an active part in the event. Thanks to the Robo House, they had an opportunity to get acquainted with the basics of robotics.
Sergey Vakarin thanked Konstantin Reutsky and Yuri Shatkovsky of Vostok-SOS for a good event and cooperation. UkraineIS conducted a number of joint events with Vostok- SOS, including the International Forum High technology and opportunities for Ukraine in the world, Lego Models and RC Cars Contest for children of Donbas and Kyiv, Cultural Ambassadors of Ukraine Project and presented the New Generation Wins: Independent Ukraine is 25 publication by UkraineIS.
