As for the annual Mobile World Congress, it is expected to reveal new trends in the mobile world – from continued discussion of 5G and the Internet of Things to Sustainable Development Goals and how mobile technologies can help. The smartphone industry will traditionally show what’s new but this year only Samsung will make real news at the MWC with its widely announced Galaxy S9. Some 4YFN programs are specially developed to boost social entrepreneurship. 4YFN and the Barcelona-based social innovation accelerator Ship2B recently launched the Social Innovation Challenge to select three startups for a 6-month acceleration programme. One of the winners this year is Mouse4all, a support product that allows people with severe physical disabilities to use an Android tablet or phone without touching the screen.

In addition to pitching, tech trends will also be widely discussed – summits on digital health and legal issues for startups may be of particular interest. And what can we expect in the future from blockchain, IoT and artificial intelligence? We may receive the answers soon at this year’s 4YFN.
